Mastercard is seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Software Engineering DevOps to lead our DevOps initiatives, drive innovation, and enable seamless delivery pipelines across global teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, cloud-native architecture, automation, and leadership, along with a passion for building high-performing teams and delivering cutting-edge solutions.
As the Director – Software Engineering DevOps, you will be instrumental in enhancing Mastercard’s development, deployment, and operations strategies, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across our platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Define and execute the DevOps vision and strategy in alignment with Mastercard’s global technology objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Drive organizational transformation to adopt DevOps best practices, enabling a seamless software delivery lifecycle.
Technology and Process Optimization:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines to support global engineering teams.
- Establish robust monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Champion infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization, and microservices architectures.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement DevSecOps principles and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to align DevOps initiatives with business goals.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in DevOps practices and tools, providing guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and integrating them into Mastercard’s DevOps ecosystem.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles focusing on DevOps practices.
- Proven expertise in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) and version control systems (Git, GitHub, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with payment systems or financial services platforms.
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with machine learning operations (MLOps) and AI-driven DevOps tools.
